Welcome to the web site of the CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS Department

Our Department is located at the Faculty of Sciences of the Science and Technology Campus of the University of Cadiz, in Puerto Real (Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain).

We carry out teaching activities in the Bachelor's and Master's Degrees offered by the Faculty of Sciences, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and the School of Engineering.

Our research staff is specialized in the synthesis and characterization of materials for different technologies. They are fellows of the Electron Microscopy and Materials Research Institute (IMEYMAT) and the Biomedical Research and Innovation Institute of Cadiz (INiBICA).

We develop projects and transfer activities along the following research lines:
- Magnetic materials, nanoparticles and aerogels for bio-medical technologies.
- Optical materials for energy and environmental technologies.
- Development of instrumentation and applications for inspection tasks.
- Surface laser processing and surface metrology.
